Start 2016 with Three Questions

image

Now that the holiday shopping, cooking and entertaining is winding down, it’s a good time to reflect on the past year and think about how you want to approach 2016. Don’t stress out about New Year’s Resolutions by keeping it simple. You can start by asking yourself these three questions.

What did you learn?

If you attended a conference, took a class or workshop, read a book, or listened to a speaker, you obviously learned something. But, it’s the less obvious lessons that you learn through everyday experiences with your friends, family and colleagues that are often overlooked. Each experience in life is an opportunity to learn.

Take the time to think about some of these moments in 2015 and give yourself a pat on the back for having handled the highs and lows, while learning from them.

What did you do that was new?

You’re never too old to try something new. That’s what makes life interesting and fun. And, it’s great for keeping your mind flexible and open to new ideas. You might have a bucket list. Or, it may be a few simple things that you want to incorporate into your life.

If you can’t think of anything you did in 2015 that was new, make sure you put “do something new” on your bucket list for 2016!

What’s your one big dream for 2016?

Having dreams is a good thing. They may change from year to year but whatever they are, don’t dismiss them. They may not be easy to fulfill or even complete in a year, but you should keep your dreams close to you. Remember, all things are possible.

Happy 2016 to everyone!
